Jeg er en mand, som bor i Skagen, og da jeg begyndte at fotografere, var det med analog kamera, og selv rulle råfilm op og fremkalde i eget mørkekammer, på hobby plan, for omkring 40 år.
Mine yndlings motiver er landskab, dyr, fugle, storbyer og streetphotos, fra Danmark og udlandsrejser.

Frozen sunset Denmark
Went for a photoshoot at the start of 2021 when it was quite cold. At end of my trip I saw some beautiful colors in the sky close to my home. I decided to go the beach and made this long exposure shot. It was taken at Kalø bugt in Denmark.
Noctilucent Clouds & Comet Neowise
One night at home, I saw a different glow outside. It turned out to be Noctilucent clouds dancing around in the night sky giving it a beautiful glow. What I didn't realize when I made this long exposure shot was that Comet Neowise snuck into the photo as well, which make this one of my favorite photos of all times. The picture was taken in Rodskov, DK in the summer of 2020.
Magic glowing mushrooms
My first attempt at making a glowing mushroom picture. This took quite some time to create. It is nine different pictures of the mushrooms mixed together. It was taken 2021 in Holstebro, DK.
Keep up with the flow
I went for a walk in the forrest around Skovmøllen in Aarhus, hoping I could find a spot to make a long exposure picture of the current. I found this beautiful place close to Skovmøllen where I could capture the flow of the water around the stones. It was taken in 2021.

The blossoming of the spring
Taken in 2020 around spring in the beautiful nature of national park Mols Bjerge. I saw this tree where the flowers were about to blossom, and therefore decided to make a noir-style shot of these. A few relatives of mine have asked for print of this, therefore I thought it was fitting it ended up here as well.
Frozen textures
This picture was taken during december 2021 during a beautiful cold day in Holstebro, Denmark. I found this beautiful branches with frost on them hiding in the shadows. I manage to make this capture where everything except the branch is dark. I thought it gave a quite unique picture, better than I had imagine.
The beauty of winter
Another picture in my series of pictures captivating the beauty of the harsh cold weather. This was taken in 2021 December, Holstebro, DK. Cold weather surely creates a lot of beauty during to the weather also being moist here which means that frost can be found everywhere. What I really like about this picture are the vibrant colors

During the autumn of 2019 in Denmark where I found this lonely yellow maple leaf. Found it really stood out with its beautiful texture and therefore I decided to make a picture out of it. It was taken close to Rodskov, DK.

This picture was taken in 2019 at Egå Marina, DK. It was during the winter time, so it was quite cold despite looking warm. I thought it looked quite idyllic with all the birds flying to their next place as this person walks along the beach. In the background you can spot the cranes at Aarhus Harbor.

Yosemite Falls
This photo of Yosemite Falls in Yosemite National Park, USA was taken from a cliff edge vantage point on the other side of the valley. I woke up from my campsite in Yup toward Yosemite valley a couple hours before sunrise and drove up toward Glacier point. I parked my car and hiked in toward Taft point to capture the sunrise. When the early rays of sun hit the waterfall it created this magical moment.

This is a photo of Half Dome, Vernal, and Nevada Falls in Yosemite National Park, USA. I captured this image from Glacier Point on a trip to the park in late October 2021. I made the one hour drive up to Glacier Point from my campsite in Yosemite Valley prior to sunrise. When I arrived at Glacier Point it was raining and there was very poor visibility. However, shortly after sunrise, the rain stopped and the clouds began to part. The view was truly breathtaking.

This is a photo of Half Dome, USA. I captured this image from Glacier Point on a trip to the park in late October 2021. I made the one hour drive up to Glacier Point from my campsite in Yosemite Valley prior to sunrise. When I arrived at Glacier Point it was raining and there was very poor visibility. However, shortly after sunrise, the rain stopped and the clouds began to part. I scouted for some good photo locations. After a bit of bush-wacking, I approached the cliff edge and saw Half Dome beautifully framed by some trees and I captured this image.

Grand Sunset
This sunset photo was taken at Grand Canyon National Park, USA. After spending the day scouting different possible photo locations, I decided that this was the spot where I wanted to be at sunset. It was mid winter, and even though the canyon is in the southern USA, it is also surprising high in elevation at about 7000 ft. Consequently, it was very cold at sunset. I put on my warmest clothes, and set up my camera on a tripod and waited for the sun to go down. As the sun went below the horizon, the sky lit up with vivid color which reflected off the canyon walls to create my favorite image of the Grand Canyon.

The Grand Canyon National Park, USA. This photo was taken mid winter on a very cold evening while my wife waited by the fire in a lodge tavern. While I was less comfortable, I have a memory captured by this image that will last a lifetime.

A mysterious tree that has emerged out of fog on my way to the highest peak of Madeira Island, Pico Ruivo.

I met this magical tree, whose branches hug in a quiet grip, on my way up to Pico Ruivo, the highest peak of Madeira Island.
Mushroom in the Forest by the Sea
I searched the forest for days for mushrooms to photograph where I could isolate the subject and make a really peaceful scene of it, and this (as it is known in danish) Karl Johan mushroom was standing beautifully by itself on a small hill in the forest just besides the ocean. So the background is the blurred trees in front of the ocean which together create these wonderful colours.

In our everyday lives we rarely have time to stop and look more closely at the intimate details. In fact, even if we had time, we probably wouldn't spend it on those little things. But there is beauty and peace of mind to be found.

The Andromeda galaxy
The Andromeda galaxy - Our nearest galaxy neighbor 2.5 million light-years from Earth. The photo was taken over 11 separate nights from the beginning of September to the end of October, and consists of 340 photos, with a total exposure of 28 hours. Andromeda will begin to collide with our galaxy in a few billion years, where the two will become a unified galaxy - what a sight for those present there!

View of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. I captured this image while on a photography and cycling trip to San Francisco. On the trip, I was really inspired by the beauty and engineering achievement of the bridge. I ended up taking pictures of the bridge from every conceivable vantage point and time of day and night. This ended up being my favorite image.
Mystical Energy
Mount Shasta, California. This photo is taken from the mountains above Castle lake. I spent 35 years living in Mount Shasta. Some people believe that the mountain is a mystical place with one of the strongest "energy vortexes" in the world. Thousands of spiritual seekers from across the globe travel to Mount Shasta each year in search of life changing and enhancing experiences. This is one of my favorite photos that I captured while living there. I feel this image does a good job of capturing the amazing beauty and energy of the mountain.
Rock Bound
The rugged and beautiful Canadian Rockies near Banff. I took this photo on a two hour, pre-sunrise hike into Rockbound Lake. My goal was to arrive at the lake for sunrise. Although I was a little freaked out at the prospect of running into a grizzley bear while hiking alone in the dark, the amazing beauty that I encountered when the sun rose made this a life peak experience.
Canadian Rockies
The breathtaking and rugged Canadian Rockies in the Fall. I captured this image on a pre-dawn into rockbound lake near Banff, Alberta Canada. My goal was to complete the two hour uphill hike into the lake so that I could experience the sunrise from the lake. Although I was freaked out at the prospect of encountering a grizzley bear in the dark, the awe I experienced when the sun rose made this a peak life moment.
Sedona
Sedona Arizona. Sedona is my favorite desert destination. It is rich in hiking, biking, and photography opportunities. In addition it is a cool, funky, and thriving community of diverse and interesting people. I like how this image was able to capture the beauty of the desert and red sandstone rock formations that Sedona is famous for.
Alaska
Glacier bay, Alaska. I was never a fan of the idea of vacation cruises, but I thought I would make an exception for a cruise to see Glacier Bay in Alaska. It is cloudy and rainy about 300 days out of the year in Glacier Bay, but when our ship arrived, the skies opened up and I experienced the majesty of one of the most amazing places on the planet.
Yosemite Point
I captured this sunset image of Half Dome from a location near Yosemite Point. I have a love-hate relationship with landscape photography because to capture the best images you most be at remote locations at sunrise or sunset. This often means a lack of sleep and hiking in the cold and dark. On the other hand, it allows me to experience things that most people will never experience. Reaching Yosemite Point requires a strenuous and challenging hike of several thousand feet elevation gain from the valley floor carrying heavy photography gear. The reward was one of the most beautiful sunsets that I have ever experienced. Hiking down to the valley in the dark was well worth the experience that I will never forget.

Ain't nothing but blue skies
Shot on 35mm Kodak Gold 200. On a beautiful spring day, somewhere in the woods close to Copenhagen, I took this shot. The birds were chirping, sun shining, wind was blowing oh so gently. It was so serene - almost as a scene from a movie. I looked up and the branches, not yet awoken from the winter sleep, set against the blue sky looked almost covered in gold - and I knew, spring had arrived.

The name Føroyar (Faroe Islands) is derived from old Norse Færeyjar and literally means Sheep Islands. In fact, the islands are inhabited by 70,000 sheep – meaning that the size of the sheep population is 20,000 inhabitants bigger than the human population. So, even if you feel trained in counting sheep (from trying to fall asleep at night), good luck counting all the Faroese ones.

Røverborgen ved Svaneke
Navnet Røverborgen blev efter sigende opfundet af turistforeningen i Gudhjem for at gøre naturen endnu mere dramatisk og eksotisk. Turistforeningen i Gudhjem blev stiftet i 1907 og så det som en af sine opgaver at gøre naturen omkring byen tilgængelig for turisterne. Man opførte badehuse, anlagde stier i skoven og byggede også en bro over Ravneskåret til Røverborgen. Røverborgen som filmkulisse: I 1917 indspillede Nordisk Film ”Sicilianerrøverens Bryllup” og her indgik Røverborgen som ”kulisse”. I dag er broen væk, men Røverborgen står alligevel som en markant og spændende klippeformation, som de letbenede sagtens kan bestige. I finder den ved at gå fra Norresan ad Kyststien mod Helligdomsklipperne. Kilde: Destination Bornholm

One early spring morning I went to the lake to hopefully get some landscape photos in the moody setting. When I saw the swan gliding silently around on the water I knew I had to incoporate it into the photo.
Alien Landscape
You would barely be able to see these alien plant creatures with the naked eye. They grow in moss on tree bark and are about 4 milimeters in size, and although we never see or think about these creatures, they are a part of the eco system, a vital part of life here on Earth.
Slow Sunrise
The camera is able to see the world in ways we are not. This long exposure is taken with a seven minute shutter time, so this photo is essentially the result of what those seven minutes of light looked like at Mossø in Jutland, Denmark.

In a small clearing in Hørret Forest in East Jutland here in Denmark I came by these magnificent birch trees.
Magic Moment
Quite a steep trail among grass and rowanberry leads up to Reinebringen (448 meters). At 400m, as you lean over the edge, you will probably shout out with joy at the sight in front of you. Directly below the tips of your shoes lies Reine, bobbing in the sea, fjord and mountain. That magic, happy feeling spreads throughout your entire body. This particular shot was taken at Midnight with the sun at it's lowest position. Magic!

Apparition
For a short moment the sun beams lit up the sceen like a revelation on this gloomy evening at Uttakleiv Beach. All of a sudden I got very busy making several exposures to combine in post in order to get the waves as dramatic as possible.

Ice Bubbles
In a frozen lake I noticed tiny bubbles near the surface. The sun was diffused by a thin layer of clouds, creating this colorful, yet so soft, light reaching down to the bottom of the lake.

In the rays of sunlight there were a million tiny insects floating around in the air, invisible until they were being backlit by the sun setting. Even though the insects might be swarming like this all around us, we very rarely see it because of their size.

Midnight Sun in Reine
The day that never ends! Like a prolonged sunset and sunrise all at once, the midnight sun colours heaven and earth in a reddish yellow light. If you travel to Lofoten between 25 May – 17 July you will experience this for yourself. I could never have imagined what an impact the midnight sun had until I had the fortune to be there during this time.
Tidal Pool
Skagsanden Beach – Flakstadøy Skagsanden is one of Lofoten’s most photographed beaches, especially as a location for northern lights in winter. Located along the E10 a few kilometers east from Ramberg, this flat, sandy beach often provides scenic reflections of the surrounding mountain terrain. Additionally, the sides of the beach provide rocky outcroppings for a variety of photographic opportunities, depending on the tide and waves.

Of all the beaches I saw in Norway’s Lofoten Islands, Uttakleiv had the most diversity. It’s a photographer’s dream with it’s creamy white sand, green grass, jewel toned tidal pools and rocky coastline.

Journey to Xtlan
The title of this book is taken from an allegory that is recounted to Castaneda by his "benefactor" who is known to Carlos as Don Genaro ( Genaro Flores ), a close friend of his teacher don Juan Matus. "Ixtlan" turns out to be a metaphorical hometown ( or Place / Position of Being ) to which the "sorcerer" or warrior or man of knowledge is drawn to return, trying to get home. After the work of "stopping", his changed perspective leaves him little in common with ordinary people, who now seem no more substantial to him than "phantoms." The point of the story is that a man of knowledge, or sorcerer, is a changed being, or a Human closer to his true state of Being, and for that reason he can never truly go "home" to his old lifestyle again.

Signs of Winter
One drawback of using high megapixel cameras is that your hard drives are filling up very fast and you will quickly find yourself being out of space. So one day I found myself going through the archives after files I should have discarded a long time ago. I know I have many of them I will never use but I hate the tedious decision making goin through every file. During this process, which by the way is a neverendig story, I stumbled on a pic from a visit to my family in Austria some years ago. Somehow I never bothered to do anything about it. So I found the perfect excuse to postpone the boring search and plunge into a much more pleasing pursuit reminding me of times long ago when I would try to find any excuse to postpone studying for an exam. Even cleaning the dorm was to be preferred.

The Sleeping Town Kallmünz
Germany always takes us by surprise! Travelling with our camper we find picturesque small towns and villages whenever we decide to leave the stressfull Autobahn for the small roads winding through the countryside. This is the second time we are visiting this pearl in the Naab Valley - the Town of Kallmünz. Last time we found the small Jugendzeltplats at the river by accident but this time we knew we wanted to visit it by purpose. The earley morning walk up to the Castle revealed a town asleep in the fog ascending from the river.

My car broke down in the middle of a field near the coast of north-western Greece. I stepped out and after taking care of the car I looked at the view. In the horizon I saw a fisherman putting out net. I thought it was a beautiful setting and so I rushed back to the car to get my camera. That's how I got the lovely picture.

Jammerbugten
Legend has it: During the raging storms at sea, boats at sea moved to the bay of Jammerbugten. Citizens along the coast, led by bishop Stygge Krumpen from the ministry Børglum, sent their horses to the beaches. Below the horses' bellies, lanterns were attached. As the men at the boats saw the light, they were tricked into believing that other ships had found safety in the bay. However, when they moved closer to shore, the boats ran ground, hence giving the locals the opportunity to rob them. This caused a lot of misery, which gave The Bay Denmark its Danish name. Today the misery has left The Bay Denmark, which is now a vibrant coastal resort with many lovely bathing beaches.
